If you’re sick, what happens? Everything else in your life gets out of order. Depending on the severity of the illness, you can’t work, you might have trouble taking care of your kids, it becomes difficult to maintain the upkeep of your home, the list goes on. Basically, if your health goes, a lot of other things soon follow.

Consider this. A number of the illnesses we faced are a direct consequence of poor food choices over the long term and leading a sedentary lifestyle. Combined, these two lifestyle choices set us up for potentially avoidable health conditions. This list of illness includes hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, some cancers, and unfortunately many more.

If you’re just beginning a healthy lifestyle journey or just at the point of thinking about changing some of your unhealthy tendencies, think about this. If you can’t work or manage the day-to-day of your life because you are sick, how truly enjoyable is your life? This journey is a process. By making your fitness a priority, you are not swearing off chocolate cake for life. You’re just making the choice to say, I’m going to make smart food choices most of the time, so that when I do decide to have a piece of chocolate cake, I don’t feel bad about it, and I won’t have it every day for the next four days. Make sense?

There’s a give and take to this, but it is time for us to prioritize our health, and by embracing a fit lifestyle, you’re putting your health high on your list of things to do!
